Producing a high-quality recruitment video, on budget
The Challenge: updating a recruiting video while adhering to time and budget goals
Our client, a major shipping port in Washington, needed to update a recruiting video to reflect changes to their ongoing intern program. As our video team took stock of the changes that would need to be made, we remained mindful of our client’s time and budget, making every effort to ensure the updating process was as efficient and cost effective as possible.
The Solution: prioritize efficiency through image inventory and stacked filming schedules
After reviewing the content changes from our client, we confirmed that both the narration and footage needed to be updated throughout the video. Our video team then went to work laying out a cost-effective plan.
We began by assembling an inventory of footage, including stock footage, cataloged imagery from our past shoots at the port, and photos of previous interns that the port provided. Using these previously-aquired images and footage helped lighten the load of the shooting demands.
When tackling the narration updates, we scheduled our recording time on the same day that the port was set to film another project. We also set up a simple “studio” onsite to record a vocally-talented port employee as the video’s narrator. Taking these steps helped maximize our efficiency, saving our client time and money.
The Results: on time and under budget
We were happy to provide value and efficiency for our client, finishing the video project on time and spending only 57% of the approved budget—and our client was beyond pleased with the recruiting video updates.
